Every child needs just one moment to recognize their passion and persistence, to break free from the challenges of life and become the champion of their own stories!

Started in the year 2016, Dance Out of Poverty is the flagship of Sinhayana Foundation. As the name suggests, Dance Out of Poverty, aims at empowering underprivileged children by providing free-of-cost dance education and instilling life skills in them through dance.

Through the group-based learning program, children residing in economically weaker communities of Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad are motivated to take control of their narrative by confidently showcasing their talents to the world and nurturing their emotional, personal, and professional skills with dance education.

Dance out of Poverty Mission and Vision

Mission

Reaching out to underprivileged children and empowering them through dance, creating a future of self-sufficiency, setting an example that will act as an inspiration for others to support the cause.

Vission

Ensure that dance-based education is recognized as an integral part of children’s holistic growth, facilitating creativity as a fuel that must exist in the lives of all children.

Why dance as a cause

Why Dance as a cause?

Dance acts as a stepping stone for creating opportunities for these underprivileged children to play, express themselves, find their own space where they can live like children, and also acts as a form of movement therapy.

We believe, everyone has a right to experience the arts, develop their creativity, express their unique identity during a need or difficulty which they otherwise cannot do via “traditional” communication channels and engage in our shared humanity.

We choose dance-based education as a way of empowerment to our students, as we recognize that passion and persistence, need the right opportunity and right environment, and one moment to change it all.

When we are on stage, it does not matter where we are coming from, but how much passion and love we have for what we do- that is to perform and express ourselves.

We attempt to train our dancers such that they can be prepared for the market economy, and survive the highly competitive industry with their skills and talents. We bridge the gap between expensive training studios and dancers, by training our students free of cost who in turn become professional dancers and instructors giving back to the community, by training and teaching more underprivileged children to dance.

Learn More

Dance is not just body movement, but an expression of our story in simple language. No story in the world can't be told through dance, no emotion which can not be expressed.

Dance is empowering and socially inclusive. It does not discriminate against class, caste, gender, race, ethnicity, and others.

Dance not only produces a culture of happiness and fitness but also provides employment opportunities like teaching, background dancing and choreography, and others.
